ABIDING IN HIM

 Text: John 15:1-7 KJV

Key Verse: John 15:4 KJV; Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

Just like we live in a house and we do not let strangers in for any reason, the same way our body which is the temple of the Holy Ghost should be kept clean and made an abode for God and not sin. If we have accepted Him into us, and have forsaken our old ways, then we are made righteous; but abiding in this His righteousness is the Key to abiding in Him. If we say we abide in Him, then we should walk even as He also walked. We cannot bear fruit of righteousness, fruit of Holiness, fruit of the Spirit unless we abide in Him. Without Him we can do nothing. vs7 of our text says; If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it will be done unto you. This is the blessing for abiding, but the conditions are a must. The danger for not abiding is being withered, unfruitful, cast away and left to burn. He that abideth in Christ the true Vine, the same bringeth much fruit and herein, the Father is glorified.

Pray and ask God for the grace to abide in Him, bear much fruit, receive the blessings and glorify the Father. And if you are not yet in Him, or you have gone back, ask for His mercy and forgiveness, pray for grace never to turn back.
